Video Display Problem

So I have been having this problem for the last few months. I have done several updates during this time, uninstalled/reinstalled several times, messed with every possible setting I could find, and still can't reach a solution.

Here is my problem, only about half of my video is showing. When I play a video, I can see the left half of the video while the right side of the video/player is black. If I change the zoom to "half" I'm able to see the entire video but the video no longer fills the full screen.

I have included a screenshot because I'm sure i've done a terrible job of explaining this:

As you can see, the right third of the screen is black instead of showing the video.

Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know a solution?

I have been a VLC user for several years and I desperately miss using it so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

This is a problem of your video drivers. Change video output in preferences.

Thank you so much! I'm happy to report I followed your advice and my VLC is working perfectly again! I wish I hadn't waited so long to ask this question! Thanks again!
