Removing Restart Playback notification

I've just updated my VLC to 2.2.1 not too long ago, and I have a small question about the restart playback feature. Whenever I go back and play a music file that I've restarted, I get this notification asking if I want to restart the playback and continue from where I last stopped. That's well and fine, and that's how it's supposed to work. However, that's not my issue. My issue is the fact that this notification pops up every time I restart from the beginning. I find that seeing this notification every time is a bothersome feature and I can't find any option to remove it since I'm one of the people who don't tend to want to replay at a specific point and replay a full file through from the start. It also increases the visualization window up which is just as annoying since I completely minimize that window so that it never appears.

To get to the point, is there an option to remove this restart playback notification so that I don't have to be bothered being asked to so when I don't care to, or am I stuck with this until the next update if it even gets considered?

I find this feature anoying too. Just like anything that takes my precious screen space and requires a user action or a timeout to be hidden. Know those windows tray balloon notifications? Aren't they annoying? Really, I almost never need this feature, and when I do, I would prefer it to be an action bound to a hotkey.

Meanwhile, is there a way to disable it without changing other useful functionality (recently used files menu)?

Yes, in preferences.

Yes, in preferences.
Dear Jean-Baptiste,

Please read my post carefully or explain exactly what you mean.

I asked for
  1. disabling the "restart playback notification", and
  2. not changing anything else except for exactly that.
Apparently you claim that it is possible to accomplish this by "deactivating recent items in preferences". A search for "recent" gives only one setting, which is "save the recently played items in the menu". Unchecking this does indeed disable the said notification, but, unsurprisingly, it also removes the "Open Recent Media" menu. But I do not want to remove this menu, only the notification.

Is this too much to ask?
Thank you very much.

So far, there is an option named "Continue playback?" with Never, Ask, Always to disable this.
