Slow Start of MKV-Files from Network

Postby Forsaked » 16 Mar 2015 19:09

Hi VLC-Community,

i noticed a strange issue in the latest VLC release, which never occured before in older versions.
To switch to 2.2.0 (x32 & x64) i unistalled the old VLC cleared the cash & settings, cleared the registry and installed the new with max. userrights.

Since then i have the problem that files in a MKV container take a long time (3-5 Minutes) to start the playback from my NAS (network share over SMB).
The VLC opens instant but they file shows no timecode until the playback finally starts, no other filetype or mediaplayer has this problem.
From a local drive the MKV playback instandly starts.

Has anybody experienced something simmilar and got a solution?

Regards,

Forsaked

Edit: I just found this thread https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=124525 i should have searched more pefore posting, sorry guys!
