Missing context menu (rightclick menu) after clean install

Hi guys, I got a problem. I got rid of winamp, and also i wish to delete windows media but i can't.

Anyway, I didn't have the "Add to VLC queue" context menu (right click over certain amount of files, single file or folder/several folders) and decided to uninstall and install again the last version of VLC.

I chosed "Context menu" option in the installer, but after installing it doesn't appear. I have not yet rebooted. What can I do.

Reboot. Ans install again if it still doesn't work.
And use the 32 bits version.

Possibly a bug was present. We're working on it.

Same bug here...
VLC 2.2.0 on Windows 7 64-bits, re-installing and rebooting didn't help and I use the 32-bits version of VLC.
Context menu works fine on older versions of VLC.
Please fix this it.

I found this too with 2.2 x64 and then went on to try 2.2 x32, 3.0 x64, 2.1.5 x32 and even went back to 1 and also deactivated UAC, turned off the antivirus and tried in a minimal startup configuration (microsoft stuff only). Nothing worked and what is interesting is that the earlier versions did put on the right-click context menus. Maybe a windows (7, x64, all updates applied) update has broken this for VLC.

Closer inspection shows that the problem is failure to create the necessary registry keys. Creating them manually fixes the problem. This is a bit tedious so I extracted all the relevant (I think I got them all) keys from a working system, saved them in registry files and then merged these onto the other systems where there was a problem. Problem fixed. As a workaround it would be nice if the developers could supply a .reg file with the correct settings.

If anyone wants a copy of my reg files, let me know.

Please try VLC 2.2.1 from Nightly Build of VLC

I am also having this issue. I could not find a 2.2.1 64 bit nightly build, just 32 bit. I tried the 3.0.0 nightly build and the problem still exists in this version.

I've uninstall the previous version and select "delete preferences and cache" both when uninstalling the old version and when installing version 2.2.1.
