No idea if it worked in a pre-2.2.0 version, but I wanted to play a S01E01 of the series 1864 , but VLC wont play it. Windows Media Player does play it.
Maybe something to look into?

But most files play fine from the shared drive.

As the link posted in the previous post to an earlier thread (as well as in at least one other thread) there is a problem in version 2.2.0 running MKV files from external or network attached storage drives. There is a nightly build (http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... 0304-0202/) as indicated in the previously posted link that appears to correct the issue and MKV files play properly from external storage or NAS drives.But most files play fine from the shared drive.
