Problem with associations files on Windows 8.1

Postby zaphiel » 04 Feb 2015 22:40

Hello.

First say that I have found no solution, so I think this post.

I can not associate .avi and .mp4 VLC, use Windows 8.1.

I've reinstalled once VLC, establishing partnerships from the start, but does not work.

'I've tried manually from "Default Programs" establishing each format to a program, or a program that supports all formats but does not work.

No more do.

A greeting.

Your issue isn't clear to me. Can you tell us what exactly does or does not happen when you try certain things?

It sounds like you did everything right.

You should have an option to associate file extensions when you install VLC.
Later you can associate file extensions using the control panel in windows. As you said, under default programs.

Please take a look at this post I made a few days ago, and try it again. It really should work.

You can always uninstall and reinstall VLC. If you think you'll have to do that, I recommend also removing stored settings and preferences during the uninstallation.

I've done all that, but when I restart the computer that configuration is reset, I think it should be something the register.
