Changing Video Playback Background Color

Hi,
When the VLC window is larger and/or with a different aspect ratio as the video, VLC sets the areas outside the video frames to black.
Is there a way to change this color from black to some other custom color?
Thanks!
Adi

I don't think there is an option for that.

I run my monitors with all colours inverted. (white text on black, and green becomes magenta).
This means I have to switch a screen to 'normal' mode before I can play a video. I found the "Negate colors" option in VLC's Adjustments and Effects dialog, and this partially solves the problem; however the gutter is also inverted, and becomes a bright white bar at the top and bottom of the screen. This is blinding, and defeats the point for me.
Any possibility that this situation has changed? If there's no option for changing the background color, I will add a feature request: this would really make a very pleasant difference to me.
Thanks, and thanks for all the great work you'e all done.

Sorry, but no, it's a bit too complex to do.

when using KMPlayer it is easy to adjust any background color you want, why so difficult to provide VLC with that feature ? I dontlkie KMp much but lack of this feature simply FORCING me to quit VLC !

It's not that easy to implement, as a lot of code historically assumes a black background. But patch welcome.
