Blue Ray problem (host certificate revoked)

Postby jdemaris » 07 Jan 2015 19:57

I have VLC 32-bit version installed on one computer with Vista (32 bit) and it works fine for me with any Blue Rays I've tried. I followed instructions first for adding the two files for Blue Ray support.

I just got a slightly newer computer with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit). I installed the same version of VLC 32-bit and the Blue Ray movie would not play. No error message. Just won't play. I then started messing around trying to put the key-file and the library file in other areas. It got a little confusing since %appdata% takes me to two "roaming" places. So now - when I try to play the Blue Ray - I get a message that "my host certificate has been revoked." I have no idea what that means and what to do next.

Note that both Blue Ray drives are new and the same brand and model #. Same movie also tried in both computers (3.10 to Yuma).

The newer computer that won't play the Blue Ray with VLC works fine with the same Blue Ray when I use DVD Fab or ANYDVD-HD. So I'm pretty sure the new Blue Ray drive is fine.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Old computer that works fine with VLC and Blue Ray:
AMD Athlon II X2 255 3.20 GHz processor.
Windows Vista 32 bit with Service Pack 1
LG Blue Ray drive
VLC 2.1.5 Rincewind as described in "about"

Newer computer that will play the Blue Ray with VLC:
Intel Core I3 550, 3.20 GHz
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with Service Pack 1
LG Blue Ray drive
VLC 2.1.5 Rincewind as described in "about"
