Sound cutting out V 2.1.5

So for the past month or so VLC audio cuts out for 1-2 seconds every 30 seconds to 1 minute. It doesnt go out of sync and the video keeps playing, but it only happens if I minimize VLC while playing something. VLC is fine if I open a show and don't pause or minimize while its playing. I've tried different file types, I've tried updating, any ideas guys?

I have the same problem w/2.2.1. The audio cuts out for a brief moment, stopping the sound and resuming it. I've tried replicating this and when I'm working on the keyboard the audio will do this. However, if I'm not using the keyboard and am across the room away from the labtop the sound from a different file still cuts out.
