VLC + Youtube lua stuff.

I've done all the updates and crap mentioned in the other threads, I've tried multiple versions of the lua/luac in various combinations, etc. but still only a few videos actually load and I want to make sure it's not just me since other people seem to have some success.

I had the same issue begin this morning. It was working perfectly yesterday, I suspect youtube has made some changes.

Looks like http://jslover.secsrv.net/VLC/playlist/youtube.lua will be our best bet to look for an update. There is a workaround posted right now, but it didn't work for me (I'm dumping links to vlc player programmatically through an irc bot, so who knows what's going on there).

...what IRC bot? Knowing the code other projects changed to keep up with YouTube would help me update too. In fact, after seeing this post here, I got the idea to see what youtube-dl did to update...& that led directly to my update!

Thanks for the update!

With the workaround, I tried pushing the new link to VLC programmatically with the addTarget method. It would say it was playing (instead of giving the previous error) but nothing ever happened.

As for my pitiful project, I'm using a generic bot written in C# to scan an IRC channel for YouTube links and enqueue them in VLC. We use it at work as an automated way of submitting music to a collective playlist- the machine running the bot/VLC also has the stereo.
