What do all these filters do?

There's no comprehensive "help file" that comes with VLC player, and the filters that can be applied have no "tool tip" popup for hovering your cursor over their check boxes. When I go to the advanced preferences, Sout Stream, Transcode, I see a huge selection of filters with check boxes for activating them. The text beside the check boxes are the names of the filters. Just a few of them are Alpha mask video filter, RV32 video conversion filter, and Canvas video filter. Can someone write out a help file, even if just a plain TXT file, that explains what each of these filters does?
