Running Windows 7 32-bit on Dell Latitude with plenty of RAM and storage. Videos stuttered and pixilated, stopped while sound continued along with timer. Found suggestion that seems to work in a board unrelated to VLC. Windows 7 defaults to using AERO; someone was having a video playback on another media player (who knew?) and the moderator suggested turning off AERO. Right click on the desktop, select personalize, and highlight the Basic window. Close and see if that resolves the issue. Don''t know enough tech to suggest why it might work but I'm going back to watching content on VLC 2.1.5
