VLC 2.1.5 crashes on exit via command line

Postby Nikse » 02 Aug 2014 20:15

When I run this (via VLC 2.1.5 64-bit on Win7):

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" "a.mkv" -I dummy -vvv --no-sout-video --audio-trak=0 --sout="#transcode{acodec=s16l,channels=1,ab=128}:std{access=file,mux=wav,dt=out.wav}" vlc://quit
I get this:

Code: Select all

VLC media player 2.1.5 has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Has some parameters changed or is it a bug in 2.1.5 ?
The actual audio extraction seems to be working...

It didn't really crash though, I just clicked the exit button... :?:

Same here. VLC 2.1.5 and two previous versions "crash" on exit.

I get the same "Crash" message. Just when exiting out of VLC. ANNOYING! It seems to be when closing out of a video such as MPG that is playing.

An option is to temporarily install the nightlies from http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win64/?C=M;O=D
It seems to me that the latest nightlie release is more stable than the current 2.1.5 for x64 users, of course, and it shall have all the advantages version 2.1.5 has when compared to 2.1.4.
I'm using it with Windows 8.1 x64, so I can't say much about Win7 x64.
Hope it helps.

Thank you for that. The latest version 3.0 seems to be working well.
