How to display playlist always at the side of the video?

How can I display playlist always at the side of the video as a sidebar? This is what I want to do. screenshot

Playlist usually appear in another window, or when docked playlist is selected, the video is very small even when dragged to biggest. View>ticked [docked playlist], screenshot

Using windows 7 home. VLC 2.1.3

So far, this is not doable.
So sad, VLC is so rich of useful features! This is the only media-player-must-have feature that is missing. Could it be possible to introduce it by a custom skin or does it require development in the vlc core?

It's been a few years, and it appears that this basic feature still has not been implemented.
Would there be anything that users might be able to do to help motivate the inclusion of this?

Hi, this is done in the 4.0 GUI, but not planned for the 3.0 version.

Are there any news about this feature? I would like to see the playlist in minimized mode. When I full screen the video and then minimize it - the playlist is gone :`(
