i use my colleague'computer as a server, my computer running windows XP as client, i can play the the movie,but just about 10 seconds,then stops,with alot of messages,saying frame drop

Can you try with a more powerful computer ?

Are you sure the network is not congested ?

I have VLC on a server pc with XPsp2 connected to a 100mb lan, and a client pc with XPsp2 connected to a 10mb lan. The client can play a UDP unicast stream for a random time (max 1 min), then the video freezes.
It is possible that this behaviour dependes on 10mb lan?
