Last version of VLC I had (2.0.4 maybe?) display was distorted, showed two views, one full window and one thumbnail. Did not show the whole frame (cropped).
Current version (2.1.3 Rincewind) does better but image is still cropped.
Running Windows XP on an old Dell desktop system, motherboard video.
Uploaded 5 second video clip: IMG_1312.MOV
Curious side effect: paused the video and took a screen shot. Look at the screen shot with Picasa and it shows a different portion of the image. Crop the screen shot and the VLC window goes black.
Take a screen shot of the screen shot while it is displayed in Picasa and the VLC window goes black.
Cell phone videos (.MOV) do not play correctly.
