VLC Doesnt load and Refresshes page

Not sure how to explain this but if you open VLC to play a video,when you double click, the vlc window sort of refresshes and reloads and buffers the video for playing but the images dont appear.
If you minimize the vlc window and then click it again from the task bar at the bottom, it opens and the vieo is playing..

All i can describe it as when you clcik vlc to open and play, the whole screen sort of refreshes for soem reason?
Any help greatly appreciated
