I need to listen various web stations and some have .m3u8 formats.
The only player i've found that plays this format is VLC but with a high cpu usage.
I have a notebook with i5 processor and 4GB or RAM, and in several stations the cpu usage its 30% in average.
I've tried olders versions of VLC and without success. I've already tried in others machines, and the cpu usage its high too.
Is this normal? Because listening the web station on browser has a very low cpu usage, and stations with others formats too.

same here using xbmc and vlc as alt player.
xbmc cpu on a same stream 5% versus vlc 60%........
