Video Capture Card

I have a '3D Vision' video capture card. The cable that i use as the audio input is only a mono cable (well the output on the tv is mono) but windows thinks that it is stereo, so you only get the sound in the one ear.

In VLC you i could make it use Mono audio, but in 0.8.2 VLC will not open the input video. It seems to work fine on the old version of VLC, but i dont know if there is just a setting that i may need to change, or any new software that i need to download. When i tell VLC to open my 'Capture Device' it lists 'Context capture' as a video option but when i click on OK it says (in the debug console):

[00000306]dshow demuxer error: can't use device: Conexant Capture, unsupported device type
[00000306] dshow demuxer error: can't open video

is compatability for certain cards removed in 0.8.2? or could it be my drivers?

Thanks

Hi,
i think there are only three cards supported: Hauppauge pvr350 and 250 or the Visiontech Kfir.

Have a look here : http://www.videolan.org/doc/streaming-h ... l#id299823

If there are any other cards supported please let me know

Hi all,

we have tested VideoLAN with Osprey (100/200/500 or 560) cards.
Work fine ONLY with the 0.7.1 version...

Hi,
ADS Instant TV DVB-T PCI use conexant 2388 chipset.
Driver seems to be detected : "Digigo DVBT 2388x Video Capture" but No signal detected. OS WinXP. Ulead InstantMedia works fine as ADS software.
Is this chip not compatible with VLC ? Does somebody has the same problem ?

Yes the OSprey card is detected automaticaly (just press on the refrech button).
It is based on the DirectShow driver.

Thanks Nicolas, next question:

How can I know wich Cards support the directshow driver. I need to install an industrial Cam on it, so I need a high performance framegrabber. Can somebody recommend one.
