meta-data expansions

Has anyone else noticed that meta-data expansions don't seem to be working in the Windows versions of VLC after 2.1?

Per:

https://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation:Format_String/

You should be able to use these flags in settings like snapshot-prefix or path. They seem to be used as literals in the resulting files. I have tested $T, $a, $t, $N all to no avail. I have tried setting this through settings, advanced settings, and through command line parameters.

I haven't been able to test this on the other platforms yet.

Thanks!

2.1.4: Format strings not expanded

I've confirmed this in 2.1.4. Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit. Any video file.
"vlc-$N-$T-" in snapshot-prefix, upon shift-S (Video->Save snapshot), produces the literal string "vlc-$N-$T-2014-02-19-21h41m38s198.png" as a filename.
Further, "C" formatting characters like "%" as in "vlc-%N-%T-", upon shift-S (Video->Save snapshot), will cause VLC to hang and CPU usage to go to 100% until closed (with either a window- or a taskbar-context-menu "Close". Ctrl-F4 didn't work for me.).

This was apparently reported in:

https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/9938

originally and that enhancement has been reopened.

I have 2.1.5 Rincewind version

Checking for new versions says I am up to date..! SO how do I get 2.2 ?

Snapshot prefix is not being expanded for $N

I noticed many previous complaints and resolutions, but it is not working for me... Any advice..?
