.MKV won't autosave?

Most files will happily let you click the "perform this action next time without asking" box.
If you try to get an MKV file this box is always greyed out.
You can save the files, it'd just be nice if the nag box didn't pop up every time.
Is it possible to fix this so you can tick that box and not have to tell VLC it's okay to save those files?
