VLC 2.1.3 still does not see UPnP devices, crashes

Unfortunately since version 2.1.0 Universal Plug 'n Play (UPnP) is not working for me, still not in VLC 2.1.3 (Win7 SP1, both under 32 and 64 bit versions). Clicking "Universal Plug 'n Play" crashes VLC.
While previous installs (2.1.0 - 2.1.2) automatically opened the crash report option, this does not happen after (repeated) crashes in 2.1.3 after clicking UPnP.

My Love affair with VLC is over because of this ongoing UPNP problem.

Under Win7 SP1, both under 32 and 64 bit versions the problem persists...through Version Iteration after Iteration.

Such a pity.

Is it being addressed I wonder?

I have this exact same problem. On all three of the Windows PCs (Win7 64-bit) all hang when I click the upnp button on the playlist screen. Just hangs and eventually crashes. I've had to install older versions (2.08) just to get it working again.

I really would like to see this resolved!

Joined the forum to report confirmation of this issue.

On Windows 7 sp1, 64-bit, VLC 2.1.3 hangs trying to open upnp from the playlist. VLC can only be terminated.

Cheers,
G.

It is such a pity that this important function is broken on these later releases for so long now. Wonderful software that seems to have taken retrograde steps moving forward. Does not seem to make sense.

Unfortunately UPnP is still not working for me in VLC 2.1.5 (Win7 SP1, both under 32 and 64 bit versions). Clicking "Universal Plug 'n Play" crashes VLC.
While previous installs (2.1.0 - 2.1.2) automatically opened the crash report option, this does not happen after (repeated) crashes in 2.1.3 and 2.1.5 after clicking UPnP.
