Hi all,

Is there a way to get VLC to remember the last visited folder ?
*BUMP*

Same question for me.
When converting from mp4 to mp3 on version 2.0.8 it remembers my "Source" folder but my "Destination" folder is always "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC"

I've looked through the preferences, including advanced mode (my head is still spinning) but couldn't see anything in the way of hard setting or remembering the last saved directory.

Does anyone know how to do this?
I’m not afraid of the registry if I know what DWORD to create or edit.

It should be fixed in 2.1.x.

Thank you for your answer Jean.

Unfortunately, I had to uninstall/reinstall version 2.1.3 multiple times as I was only able to use the convert feature once or twice before it would start crashing (converting mp4 -> mp3).
Searching the forum I could see that most agreed version 2.0.8 was the newest version that had a stable convert feature.

Is there a 2.1.x version that has resolved the convert problems and can also remember the last output/save directory?
The system I am having problems with is XPsp3 32bit.
I also can use Win7 64bit, but still prefer XP

You could try a 2.2.0 nightly build.
