Need to press "F" twice in order to exit fullscreen?

Need to press "F" twice in order to exit fullscreen?
When I double click to make it fullscreen and after the controls and mouse pointer fade, if you press F to to try and exit the fullscreen it doesn't register but pressing F again exits the fullscreen. Anyone know how to fix this?
