some DVD's don't open properly with open disc

i have some dvds ( self burned ) which don't play with vlc with open disc


when i want to play the dvd
with "open disc" the led of my dvd drive lights up permanently and the dvd keeps spining
but vlc is doing noting
no matter if i open the dvd with or without menu
(the dvd has a menu and plays normal with other players and standalone players)

seems to me that vlc is trying to find a key on the dvd (dvd is self burned and has no protection)

i have to quit vlc in task manager to end this


when i open the vob files they play
and the funny thing:
when i open the dvd with "open folder" it plays perfect including menu

so i can play them with "open folder" but i dont understand why they dont play with "open disc"
the bug with some self burned dvds happens with all vlc versions
