warning in nightly 20131213 playing flac

Postby iffer » 14 Dec 2013 01:27

I'm not hearing any distortion now (thank you for fixing the other issue!) but I'm seeing warnings so I thought maybe someone should know...
These warnings persist throughout playback, but interesting enough if I jump the playback position, they stop (jump = click the playback point on the UI).
This is true even jumping back all the way to the start.
Once I've repositioned the playback point, even start and stop don't trigger the warnings - but selecting another track and them coming back and they appear.
Yell if you need more log - And thank you for the awesome player!

I'm sorry I don't know; I hadn't been running in debug until I was following up on bug#9966
And as I said, it doesn't seem to be affecting the playback but I thought I should log the behaviour since it seemed to be conditional on how the playback was started (not a problem with the file but rather somewhere in the stream/modules set up).
Happy to do any testing - just yell!
Jen
edit:
I went back to the log I pasted for "playback juddering" (not my term - just didn't want to repeat threads if I could help it)
And I see similar messages embedded e.g.
main debug: resampling stopped (drift: 76360 us)
packetizer_flac warning: Bad CRC for frame size 12998: 0xab75 != 0x6f8c
packetizer_flac warning: Frame is too big (19024 > 15926), couldn't find start code
packetizer_flac debug: emulated sync word
main warning: playback too late (69359): up-sampling
main debug: resampling stopped (drift: 69359 us)
main warning: playback too late (71359): up-sampling
main debug: resampling stopped (drift: 71359 us)

main debug: resampling stopped (drift: 71360 us)
main warning: playback too late (73359): up-sampling
main debug: resampling stopped (drift: 73359 us)

a track I'm playing atm gives too early messages:
core debug: Stream buffering done (6720 ms in 56 ms)
core debug: End of audio preroll
core debug: Decoder buffering done in 24 ms
core warning: playback too early (-50281): down-sampling

So this is possibly normal.
