VLC taking over opening all programs, can't disassociate.

All my icons turn to vlc and I have to UNINSTALL VLC to open up any program, major hassle. I can't disassociate extensions to anything other than VLC. Truly stumped. Do I need to Repair WIN 7?
Here's a snapshot of me trying to open PS3 Media Server:

Yes, thank you but that doesn't help. No one seems to have found a fix. Sure, one can continuously open vlc-2.1.1-win64.7z every single time and go through the motions.... but that's ridiculous. Has anyone found a way to perma-INSTALL VLC after this screw-up of wanting to Open everything?

Extracting it starts the problem all over again after opening it.
