Blu-Ray not working

Postby athegn » 21 Nov 2013 16:09

In C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Roaming\AACS in my Win 7 64bit system I have "KEYDB.cfg"

In C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC I have "libaacs.dll"

When I insert a Blu-Ray disk nothing happens.

I open VLC and try to manually start BDMV > STEAM > *.m2ts - some 20 files.

I try clicking on the largest but still nothing happens; in the VLC dialog box the play button changes to pause as if something is playing??

VLC 2.1.1

Any advice please

I'm far from the best resource to be responding since I have yet to successfully use vlc, but I believe I at least made it one step further than you. Instead of opening the actual files, try opening the entire disc (there is an option for open disc). Mines takes a while to queue up, like 15-30 seconds, but then starts to play.

Before that, though, you may have something else wrong. If you downloaded the 64 bit vlc then you shouldn't have anything to do with the x86 directory. If you downloaded the 32 bit and vlc is found in that x86 directory, then your keydb file needs to be 32 bit. Right now you show to have a mix if the 64 bit keydb and a 32 bit installation. Remember if you clicked the big huge download button that you actually downloaded 32 bit. You have to scroll down from there and hunt through another page to get to the 64 bit vlc.

Thank you for your reply.

Now loaded 64bit version and have in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\libaacs.dll

However still nothing happens. Just tried inserting BluRay disk but no joy.

Any more help please?

Did you do the "open disc" option? Oh, and you have to make sure to not have the option selected for the menu at the same screen where you choose that you want to view blu-ray.
