Scrambled Video after upgrade from VLC 2.1.0 to 2.1.1

Greetings,
Today I upgraded to VLC 2.1.1 from 2.1.0. Now all videos played are scrambled. Usually rectangles in vertical rows that are staggered. Audio is normal. I now have a black video box with normal audio in WMP 11 as well.

I'm using Windows XP SP3.

I followed the instructions here https://wiki.videolan.org/VSG:Video:VisualErrors/ with no success.
I reinstalled display drivers with no success.
I tried to find information online regarding the issue and haven't been able to.
I uninstalled VLC and reinstalled the previous version 2.1.0 and have the same issue.
I downloaded and installed the latest Daum Potplayer and playback is perfect.
Oddly enough, VLC will playback normally when Daum Potplayer is opened.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely

I installed the latest full version of K Lite Codec pack and now WMP works but vlc is still scrambled. It was black. Now it Has Green Lines. So it seems to scramble randomly. Any help would be much appreciated. My Mom installed the update with no problems.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem after upgrading to 2.1.1. Funny thing is, it worked when I first installed it, then stopped working with exactly the same problems as described after I re-booted.

The problems are only on my Windows XP machine. There do not seem to be any problems on my Win7 machine.

FYI, I uninstalled VCL 2.1.1 and re-installed a very old version, 2.0.6, and it seems to be working just fine.

Thanx for that. I uninstalled VLC 2.1.1 and installed 2.0.7 and it's working. Maybe they will get the kinks out in the next version.
