Hide file extension

Postby jsbt » 05 Nov 2013 17:42

Hello,

Please, is there any way to hide the file extension of the midia files being played with VLC? I would like VLC to show only the name of the music, without the .mp4, .mp3 or other.

Hi,

1. Load file in playlist
2. Click with the right mouse button on file in playlist
3. Select in the context menu, "Information ..."
4. Remove in Dialog "Media Info - General tab" on line "Title" File Extention (.mp4, .mp3 or other)
5. Click on the button "Save Metadata"
6. Complete the dialog with the button "Close"

Hello Kodela,

many thanks. I have around 80 media files. Instead of doing it one by one, is there any way to batch hide the file extension? If not, this would be a nice feature to add to VLS in the next versions. Please, let me know.
