VLC Update Download Location

Hello.

OS: Windows 8

It seems for some reason, I have problems with updating VLC recently.
When I open VLC normally and check for update, I can download fine.

The problem happens when I attempt to install the update.
Basically, nothing happens; the update file does not execute.

So, I closed VLC and opened with administrator rights.
When I re-downloaded and attempt to install, the update file executes.

My worry now is that there is this unused VLC Update File somewhere in my computer.
Since I redownloaded the file, I'm pretty sure there is some rouge file somewhere.
Does anyone know where that file is? I just want to delete it.

I've already searched around the forum and the internet, and cannot find the answer.
I am sorry if this is a result of my poor search techniques.

I have already checked C:\Windows\Temp and C:\Temp.
Also, I have checked the standard "Downloads" Folder.

TL;DR
My question is: Where is the VLC Update File Downloaded to when I download via the VLC Application?

Thanks.

AFAIK the file goes into your %temp% folder. To get to it type %temp% into the Windows Explorer address bar and hit Enter. Alternatively, the full path should be something like:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp

Where USERNAME is your username. If the file is still there it will be called e.g. "vlc-2.0.8-win32.exe".

Note I'm using Win7 however it should be similar for Win8.

Arite.

Alright, thank you very much.
I was able to find the leftover file.
