Remember playlist after exit

Hi there
As far as I remember the vlc playlist could do the same after exiting, not?
I'm absolutely unable to make the entries stay.. And yes, I want it like 99% players do, without saving an extra file.
And another question:
Is it possible to dock the playlist to the main window? I found some nice skins, but only some start with that option.
