playing mp3s and multiple instances of the application

Postby reitzloff » 10 Aug 2005 02:51

when i manually double click on indivdual mp3s, vlc keeps opening new instances, thus playing all the mp3s on top of each other. also if i try to select multiple mp3s in the same fashion and hit enter, it opens a bazillion instances of vlc. so i have 2 basic questions:

1) how do i fix this multiple instance issue while opening an mp3 and it was already playing
2) how do i config it to play > 1 mp3s in a playlist fashion

sorry if this issue has already been discussed, i did try to find answers before i asked though.

1. [Settings] -> [Preferences] -> [Advanced] -> [Other] - "Allow only one running instance.".. - [Save].

2. see #1.
