VLC constantly crashing

I use VLC almost daily, and have never had a problem. Today I went to watch a recording, and it instantly crashed to desktop. After this, every time I click on a video or VLC.exe, it tells me it has crashed and do I want to send a report. If I click Yes, it closes the dialog. If I click No, it opens VLC, and sometimes plays the video. I was completely confused, so I uninstalled the program, deleted cache and preferences, restarted and did a fresh install. It's still doing the same thing. I'm really not sure what's wrong, but it's a bit troubling. I read the FAQ about bug reporting, but I can't locate any crash reports. The files I am trying to open are .mp4. Any help at getting this fixed?

WMV and/or WMA and ALAC in MP4, here you go:
viewtopic.php?p=381772#p381772
Or wait for a fixed build which will be released soon.

I'm currently using 2.0.7... hmm, it was the version the website gave me when I installed today.

Check it again what version you are using. Today download link for a time was 2.0.8 and then it was return to 2.0.7.
