How to Stream Desktop Live Streams to DLNA Smart TV?

Hi,
Dell Inspiron 570 PC
Windows7
NETGEAR N600 Dual-Band Router
VLC 2.0.7
StreamTorrent
TVersity Media Server
Is this possible?
Recently purchased a Vizio E601i-A3 60" Smart TV, DLNA Enabled, and have been trying to find a method of viewing my Windows7 Desktop on the TV. I came across VLC Media Player: Desktop Streaming but this instruction is for streaming from one Desktop to another (not from a Desktop PC to a DLNA enabled Smart TV). There may be different settings in there to do what I want, but I have no clue what else to do.
Are there any step-by-step instructions on how I can view my Desktop live streams (streams source would be e.g. StreamTorrent)? I've searched the net but haven't come across any clear and concise, easy-to-follow instructions, so I'm hoping this forum can help me out if there is a methodology available to accomplish this task.
My hope is to be able to view e.g. a live streaming sports event using my StreamTorrent client, and be able to view this stream on my Smart TV.
Thanks!
Gene
