Changing audio play back order

Hi forum! Most of the songs within an album in my collection start with a numeric such as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. If there are more than nine songs, i.e. 1 thru 12 for instance, VLC media player will start with song 1 and, rather than play song 2 next, will jump to song 10, then song 11, then song 12. Is there any way short of renumbering all of my songs, to get VLC media player to play sequentially 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11....... etc? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.

VLC follows collation order by default. You can tweak the directory-sort option if you do not like it.

But I would rather recommend padding number with leading zeroes in your file names.

Makes good sense to pad with leading zeros. I'll give it a whirl and hope iTunes doesn't get "upset". Thank you for the recommendation!

Remi, VLC is smarter than me. I padded a zero in front of the file names and, still, VLC played file 01 and then file 010 instead of file 02. Possibly I did not understand what you meant by padding with leading zeros.
