I've all ready installed VLC and well it's not really working when i get on to the internet no videos to play or songs to play. I don't know how to get things to be defalt on here. I would use WMP. But there is an error that says it needs to conect to the internet... I've done everything and taken it in what else can i do?

First, tell us what kind of files you want to play and perhaps where we can find them, so we can re-do the steps you did.
Additionally, tell us what happens when you try to play your videos or songs. Do you get an error message from VLC?

no there is no error message on VLC and I am trying to play.. wma files and video files

Do you have the latest Windows Media Player installed (version 10)? VLC needs it to play this kind of files.
If you do, make sure that DirectX 9.0c is installed.

BTW. Could you try to play a song or a movie of another file-type just for testing? (perhaps a mp3 or something, just to see that VLC itself works)
