How can I modify the date of creation at transcoding ?

Postby Peter S » 17 May 2013 10:11

In win 7 there are three dates for every video file as avi, mp4... : date of creation, date of modifiing, date of last access.
Some mediaplayers (e.g. Asus O!Play Air R3) filters the files by the date of creation and so I want to synchronize the real date of creation with the date of creation of the file.
If I transcode my original file from avi to mp4 by VLC the mp4 has got not the same date of creation as before the avi. The output has got the date of transcoding as the date of creation.
Is it possibel to determine by parameter the date of creation at transcoding with VLC on command line?

[solved] How can I modify the date of creation at transcodin

Postby Peter S » 18 May 2013 10:04

Now I have tried --meta-date, but this has no effect on this three file-dates.
I can see and modify this three dates by "attribute changer", but manually and only step-by-step.
But the mediaplayer (Asus O!play Air R3 ) produces the correct list and does not use the file create date if VLC meta-date was set before.

VLC is the greatest!
Thank you for help!
