Here's the problem. If I preview more than 2 files in eMule, VLC simply wont open the file, even if it the same file as the last viewed one. Then if I try to preview another file, VLC freezes and I cannot close VLC, eMule stops DL/UL and I cannot even kill the VLC process. mmtask.exe runs at full speed, using up all my system resources. Then the whole system freezes The only way to rectify this is to reboot.

I run:

Windows 98SE all service packs and patches installed

AMD 600MHz Duron processor

128MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 Video card

This problem seems to only arise when playing back eMule partfiles, even with the 0.8.2 eMule partfile plugin.

This problem does not occur with any other media players.

If anyone can help, it would be very much appreciated.

The emule partfile reading VLC plugin isn't supported by the videolan team. Please ask the emule people for help concerning their plugin.
