so, i use vlc A LOT and after i while i noticed that if you put your mouse on the time bar,(the blue bar that shows the time of the current video) and if you scroll up, it skips ahead about 10 seconds. and vice versa for rewind.
i would like to know how to change it from 10 seconds to about 5 or 7 seconds. where in preferences and/or setting can i find it?
a simple request, hopefully i get a helpful response soon

You can change the medium jump time in preferences.

yea.. note how i said WHERE IN PREFERENCES?

well, i found it but, its not really working for me.
it seems to be something different.
its a different time for different videos.
for example, i took a video that was 14:49 long, and i worked it out and vlc divided the total time (889seconds) by about 100, and it skips ahead that much. in this video it was skipping about 9 seconds.
another video,19:08,(1148) it was skipping about 11 seconds, sometimes 12.
i went to a movie, 2:08:46, i worked it out, it was skipping 1:17. this is definitely not ideal for a movie.
i want it so no matter what the video it can be skipped by exactly 5 seconds. and don't really want to use the keyboard shortcuts.
any way how to?

yep same problem.

I have set ALL of the "jump sizes" to 5 seconds but VLC still insists to jump different times depending of the length of the video.

I have the same problem but my mouse wheel scrolls 1.5 minutes which is pretty useless I set all settings to 2 seconds and it does'nt change it used to work fine a few months ago....
