when opening a file with VLC it keeps the current and the previous files in the playlist.
is there a way to make the player delete the previously opened files from the playlist and keep only the current one?
something similar to WMP.

I have same problem. VLC always queue new files, also if I configure One instance of VLC and don't check queue files.
