Playing or encoding?
encoding h264 ac3 mp3 crashing samplerate=48000 is fine but
samplerate=44100 Will crash everytime

From a dreambox enigma2 feed

i have tested like 4 vlc-2.0.6 night builds they all crash works fine in 2.0.5 tho

tested vlc-2.0.6-20130320-0203 happens in that version also.

it was from a dreambox enigma stream maybe its just a problem with that source?

like this dreambox source was http://192.168.1.65:8001/1:0:19:EDA:7D5:2:11A0000:0:0:0:

transcode line :sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=1300,fps=25,soverlay,sfilter=marq,width=1280,height=720,acodec=mp3,ab=80,channels=2,samplerate=48000}:http{mux=ts,dst=:1234/} :sout-keep this works fine

:sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=1300,fps=25,soverlay,sfilter=marq,width=1280,height=720,acodec=mp3,ab=80,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:http{mux=ts,dst=:1234/} :sout-keep

but this will crash with samplerate 44100 not matter what vlc nightly build i have tested the latest one also

its only a problem with vlc-2.0.6
vlc-2.0.5 is fine

admin what else do you need from me i can provide
