mkv files on VLC 2.0.5

Postby hambaa » 16 Mar 2013 00:01

Hi there. Ever since upgrading frm VLC 2.0.4 to 2.0.5 I've been having issues with the MKV files. If i try to forward, then it freezes and takes a while for it to resume. Sometimes it even freezes forever, where I end up closing the whole window. I'm using Windows XP professional.

I've tried to go back to version 2.0.4, but then again the same problem is happening. Windows Media Player works a little bit better, but still more or less I face the same issues.

I never had any of these problems b4. plz help?

Either get a 2.0.6+ version on http://nightlies.videolan.org or go in tools->preferences->show settings = all then Input / Codecs -> Demuxers -> Matroska check "Dummy Elements" save and restart VLC.

If you choose the latter, as soon as 2.0.6 is out please disable this option since it will handle badly broken/corrupted files
