VLC conversion and WMP fast forward
Posted: 12 Feb 2013 22:47
VLC-2.05
platform is Windows 7, x64
Files playable in Windows Media Player are desired.
Capture & convert a stream (like a youtube) to
ASF format "Video - WMV + WMA (ASF)"
(This profile usess WMV2 and WMA2 - I don't know
what distinguishes this from WMV1 & WMA1)
I give the end product a .wmv extension
The end product plays fine in Windows Media Player,
but the controls - fast forward, reverse, slider to
spot in video - these don't work. WMP hangs &
eventually turns white & never returns.
The end product will play properly in VLC & the controls
work there.
Is there something I could do to fix this?
It's probably pointless to convert formats if the end result
is only playable in VLC anyway, but the customer wants to use
WMP & not have to install VLC every time the videos are needed.
