Stop VLC from updating itself question

I have encountered a bug of sorts with my VLC Player, which I have been using for over two years. Every few times that I open the player, I get a request to download an update to the player. If I accidentally click OK, it does it automatically, and after this happens the player will no longer play saved playlists in order. In other words, if I have video 1, video 2, video 3, etc.... up to video 8, in a playlist, and I click "N" to jump to the next video, it won't go to the next one in line, instead it will just jump around the playlist randomly. :( I have checked the settings and preferences on the player backward and sideways, and cannot find what has changed, so I want to stop this update from popping up constantly, and stick with the current, working version that I have now. Is there some way to stop auto updates from downloading please?? :?:

If you don't want shuffling, uncheck the random button?
