2.0.5 forgetting which monitor it was last on

For Win7-64 and XP-32, 2.0.5 is forgetting where I move the main window the next time I open the program by double clicking on a .MOV or .MP4 file.

It's set to play full screen.

Oddly enough, if I move the smaller popup screen with the controls to my 3rd monitor, it remembers the position of the popup (but not the main screen) the next time.

I have 3 monitors.

How can I resolve this?

Thanks!

I am having the same problem. Clean installs (no preferences, no cache) of 2.0.2 and 2.0.4 work correctly, a clean install of 2.0.5 does not work correctly.

Reproduction steps:

1) Do a clean install of 2.0.2, 2.0.4, or 2.0.5.
2) The first time the vlc window appears, move it to monitor 2.
3) Exit vlc.
4) Run vlc again.
5) Under 2.0.2 and 2.0.4 the vlc window will now correctly appear on monitor 2. Under 2.0.5, the vlc window will now incorrectly appear on monitor 1.

For completeness, I also just tested 2.0.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.3. They all work correctly.

The only one that doesn't work correctly is 2.0.5.

I just tested the nightly builds for 2.0.6 and 2.1.0, and they both work correctly, so apparently the bug in 2.0.5 has already been fixed in future versions.

Oops.

I just tested the release build of 2.0.6, and this bug from 2.0.5 has returned.

In the nightly build of 2.0.6 on Jan. 11 the bug was fixed, but somehow the fix disappeared between Jan 11 and the final release of 2.0.6.
