Many folks have recently switched to PCs after Apple killed FCP 7. This means Prores and Quicktime related processes are not ideal due to the bottleneck created by qt32server in editing and related software.
Heres the problem.
I am mastering now in MXF OP1a AVC-I 100. I have done lots of projects in 23.976 FPS which play back fine in VLC.
Many Distributors require the NTSC format to be 29.97 FPS.
When VLC trys to play these MXF OP1a AVC -I 100 at 29.97 THE AUDIO PLAYS AT DOUBLE TIME. I have many other editors reporting this same behavior.
Thousands of editors are switching to PC workflows and currently OP1a is the most desirable non Quicktime codec. But VLC is the only media player that will display it, and right now it has dysfunctional playback of 29.97 files.
Please help us fix this.
