VLC 2.0.3 Does Not Save Preferences On Windows XP

I notice this problem has been reported by others.

I have no idea what the one response to that report means.

This was not a problem in v1.1.11.
So when are you going to fix this problem? Or do we have to keep editing the vlcrc file to get the preferences correct?
