VLC doesn't remember playlist names

Hello. I've come across something of a problem. I have a m3u playlist file that contain various nsv streams. I have this m3u file in vlc's media library playlist to make it easier to access. however, I've noticed when double clicking the stream I want VLC replaces the stream name with the stream url. Does anybody know a way to stop it from doing this? The url is just a website link with an open port so without the name there's no way for me to know what stream it is. Thanks.

This behaviour is by design.

Oh, okay. It seems a bit weird VLC would do this purposefully as it's a bit of an inconvenience.

When opening a playlist, VLC takes in the metadata from the input itself when the input is played.
