Want to view youtube videos on vlc

When going to open network stream, typing in the url and hitting play, nothing plays. For a split second it shows the url up top and the duration of the video at 00:00, but they quickly go back to their defaults. Tried a few different versions, only change being 1.1.11 would flash a picture of what I was trying to watch. I've tried disabling my firewalls, same results.

win7 64bit
560ti gpu

Also, does vlc work with other sites? (ex. could I view people streaming on justin.tv through vlc?)

thanks in advance for the help.

Jean, 2.0.4 plays youtube videos, but the sound quality is HORRIBLE. :-( I'm writing this, since I did not find any offcial way to report a "nightly" bug.

[I used http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... -win32.zip to play e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozug-WU2B8U]

Vorbis Audio (vorb).

[stereo. sample rate 44100 hz. bitrate depends on the clip, but the performed audio quality seems to be poor in general...]
